“Words have meaning. Type has spirit. The combination is spectacular.”

– Paula Scher

Look closely and you’ll see that my drawings aren’t your typical pieces. I have named my illustrations “Type Drawings” because I draw with words. I like to use written words to illustrate my piece. I take the lyrics to a song, the words from a poem, the descriptions from a book, and the lines from a movie to create each drawing. I’ve gone from using the source material that Roy Lichtenstein used to create his iconic Pop Art masterpieces, to creating my own imagery. Each piece can take anywhere from 2-6 hours to create depending on the scale. It may be tedious work but I absolutely love doing it.
